K4 Wins $10 Million HHS Contract for Electronic Information Dissemination and Library Support Services

Falls Church, Va.—June 12, 2008—K4 Solutions (K4), a principal provider of information technology and administrative support services to the Federal Government, announced today that they have been awarded the Electronic Information Dissemination and Library Support Services Contract for the HHS Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Office of Communications and Knowledge Transfer (OCKT). The period of performance of this project is five years.
K4’s expertise in Web design, development, and implementation, along with their experience in managing information resources centers, provided the perfect combination of core capabilities to AHRQ that ultimately led to the contract win.
As a result of the award, K4 will be providing services to support AHRQ’s Web site and Information Resources Center (IRC) - a virtual and physical on-site library. K4 will manage day-to-day activities of the IRC; manage information, reference, and research services; and provide training, evaluation, and support for library services to AHRQ staff. K4 will also provide dedicated Web site support and consulting services, including Web page design, development, and implementation; multimedia services; and support for AHRQ’s IT infrastructure.

K4 Teaming Coordinator/Professional Services Manager, Farrell O’Neill was recently awarded the Young Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (YAFCEA) Distinguished Young AFCEAN of the Month Award. Farrell was recognized as a dedicated YAFCEAN member who volunteered her personal time to a number of activities including helping with IT Day bag stuffing and participating in preparations for the Mentor Protégé night. The Distinguished Young AFCEAN award is given to future leaders of AFCEA who make a positive impression on Chapter leaders. K4 Providing SharePoint Services to Non-Profit Agency in the District of Columbia

K4 Solutions is providing SharePoint architecture and migration support to a non-profit agency in the Washington D.C. Metro area. The non-profit agency currently uses SharePoint version 2003 and is interested in using the expanded functionality and collaboration capabilities of SharePoint 2007. The migration involves the capture of over 3000 customized pages within a SharePoint environment and hundreds of members and volunteers. The site will be used for both internal and external purposes, leveraging document repositories, calendars, workspaces and other functions with SharePoint.

K4 is giving back to the community by forming a corporate team for March of Dimes/March of Babies. March for Babies is a community walk that supports the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies from birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The K4 March for Babies Event will take place Sunday, April 20th and will span 4 miles across the Reston, VA area. K4 Solutions Subcontracted to Provide Project Management Support to IRS

K4 Solutions will assist ITSolutions in providing Project Management support for the Enterprise Networks (EN) Telecommunications Projects of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This is a five-year, $8.5 million contract. K4 Solutions was brought on as a subcontractor to help with managing and delivering a range of leading edge transformation projects for existing production telecommunication service technologies, as well as a host of modernization and new initiative/new technology projects.
K4 Added to General Dynamics Information Technology DESP II Team Supporting Air Force Materials Command

K4 recently joined the General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) Design and Engineering Support Program (DESP) II Team to support the DESP II IDIQ. The DESP II contract vehicle provides design and engineering/technical support services to the Air Force Materials Command Design & Engineering Support Program. This project, managed out of Hill Air Force Base in Utah, was created to assist and strengthen the Department of Defense mission weapon systems, components, and support equipment. This multi-faceted contract vehicle can be used by all other Air Force/Army commands, DoD agencies, and other government entities requiring similar systems.
